The Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (PCADV) is a statewide collaborative membership organization committed to ending intimate partner violence and all forms of violence against women.

PCADV, in collaboration with the Pennsylvania State Data Center, Institute for State and Regional Affairs at the Pennsylvania State University Harrisburg, secured funding from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) to implement two dashboards to share visually the historical data from two PCADV initiatives.

Domestic Violence Homicide Tracking

PCADV focuses on preventing and ending domestic violence fatalities. Each year, more than 100 women, children, and men lose their lives to domestic violence in Pennsylvania. For more than 19 years, PCADV has been tracking and analyzing domestic violence-related homicides and publishing the data in its annual Fatality Report. The report has come to be the single most reliable source for information about domestic violence-related deaths in Pennsylvania.

The interactive digital Homicide Dashboard was created to summarize visually the domestic violence-related deaths from 2007 and beyond. The dashboard is updated yearly.

Lethality Assessment Program (LAP)

The Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence is doing more than just counting domestic violence fatalities. We are trying to prevent them. The Lethality Assessment Program (LAP) is a nationally recognized, evidence-based initiative with demonstrated success in strengthening partnerships between law enforcement and community-based domestic violence programs. LAP connects victims of domestic violence with life-saving services, thereby reducing domestic violence fatalities.

In partnership with the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD), community-based domestic violence programs and local law enforcement agencies, PCADV implemented the Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence’s Lethality Assessment Program in 12 counties in Pennsylvania beginning in 2012.

The interactive digital LAP Dashboard visually summarizes the data PCADV receives from participating domestic violence programs and law enforcement agencies each month.
