The Pennsylvania State Data Center (PaSDC) was designated as Pennsylvania's primary organization in the United States Census Bureau's State Data Center Program by order of the governor in 1981. Our mission is to ensure that Census data and other federal statistics are easily accessible and beneficial to local data users, enabling informed decision making across various sectors. We assist state agencies, private businesses, community organizations, and academic institutions in not only obtaining federal data but also interpreting it to fit their specific needs and requirements.
As the main local partner of the U.S. Census Bureau, we offer local assistance by providing accurate and timely information; delivering training and support; assisting the bureau in achieving its goals; and fostering open communication with the bureau about data usability, user needs, and operational issues. Situated at Penn State Harrisburg within the Institute for State and Regional Affairs (ISRA), we enjoy close proximity to both the university and the Pennsylvania state government.
