Counties in Southeast and South-Central Pennsylvania Among Fastest Growing
Cumberland County, in central Pennsylvania, was the fastest-growing county between April 1, 2010 and July 1, 2015. The population of Cumberland County rose 4.6 percent over the period. Centre County followed with a 4.3 percent gain since 2010. Chester and Lancaster Counties (3.4 percent ) followed in terms of percent population increase. Lehigh County rounded out the top 5 fastest growing counties with 3.2 percent gain over the period.
Overall, Pennsylvania gained 99,616 residents between April 1, 2010 and July 1, 2015, equating to a 0.8 percent increase. The commonwealth's population now stands at 12,802,503.
